Praise the Lord that in Malawi there are no people groups over 100,000 in population that are less than 2% evangelized. But there are a couple of smaller people groups that need an evangelical witness. Please pray for the existing churches to boldly share the Good News of Christ and be salt and light among their people and in their communities. Pray that Baptist leaders would follow God with their whole hearts and keep His commandments. Thank God for all He has done in Malawi.

Lambya
The Lambya people, the dominant people group in the Chitipa district in the northwest corner of Malawi, are friendly and hospitable. Most are subsistent farmers and live quite simply. Many of the Lambya have heard about Jesus but do not have a personal relationship with Him and still revert to their African traditional beliefs when problems come. There is limited evangelical presence among this people. Jesus taught that “A time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” Pray that God would call out true spiritual worshipers from among the Lambya. Pray for missionaries to come and work among the Lambya so that they will have courage to follow Christ and walk faithfully with Him each day. Pray for trained Lambya leaders in order that many more can hear the Good News of Christ.

Ndali
Living in a remote area of northern Malawi and southern Tanzania, the Ndali people have very little evangelical work among them. Receptive to the gospel, a work has begun among the Ndali. The Bible tells us that Jesus’s ministry fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” Please pray for missionaries to come and work with these rural people living in darkness in the foothills between Lake Malawi and the Misiku Hills. Pray that the Good News will continue to spread among the Ndali people, and that those who come to Christ will stand firm in their faith and not intermingle it with their traditional beliefs.
