Tsonga-Shangaan
Escaping the tyranny of Shaka Zulu and other tribal struggles, the Tsonga-Shangaan make up 88% of the Gazankulu area of South Africa and number about 820,000. They are identified as the “Gazankulu” people and their first language is Xisonga. The Gazankulu area is considered on of the least reached regions of the Limpopo Province in South Africa. Pray for the Lord to send workers to these people.

Basotho
Lesotho’s unreached Basotho people live in the Maluti Mountains. These mountains have created a natural barrier to modernized life and inclusion into Western society, but they have also served to keep out the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Basotho live in small villages separated by deep valleys and wide mountains. The Catholic church present among this people is fully syncretized with traditional ancestor worship. Sadly, the Maluti Mountains have not kept out the spread of HIV/AIDS, so that now death is reaching the Basotho quicker than the Gospel. Pray that the Good News of Christ will reach every Basotho village and home in the Maluti Mountains.

Hindu Indians of South Africa
The Hindu Indian people began arriving in South Africa in 1860 coming as indentured laborers. Other Hindu and Muslim Indians came over the years as traders and presently there are 527,353 Indian Hindus in South Africa. The cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg in the Kwazulu-Natal province of South Africa have 377,682 Indian Hindus. For years the Hindu Indians of South Africa were very resistant to the Christian faith. However in recent years the Hindu Indians have begun opening up to the Gospel. Please pray that God would continue to draw the Hindu Indians of South Africa to Himself.

Muslim Indians of South Africa
The sight of covered women is common in the malls and streets of major cities of South Africa. About 125,000 people in the Gauteng Province, including Johannesburg, and about 10% of the Durban area are Muslim Indians. Offspring of indentured laborers, pray that these people will know the Savior of the world.

The Deaf of Gauteng
In the Gauteng Province of South Africa, including the two cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria, there are about 95,262 deaf, most of whom are unemployed. Best estimates reveal that only 1% have responded to the Good News of Christ. Pray that faith would result as the deaf respond to the Gospel through Bible stories.
