God is  working through volunteers in Zimbabwe.  Those who are willing to brave the airports and plane trips are rewarded. God is using them in mighty ways, even in Zimbabwe.

One vivid example,  was that of a young man who had received a tract which was handed to him on the street. He sought out team members who had come from Rehoboth Baptist Church in Georgia, and from Virginia. He confided that he had AIDS and was considering suicide. Several members were able to minister to him and pray with him. He didn't make a profession of faith at that moment, but said that there was now hope because of a God who loved him. Team members were able to link him with believers at a local church to minister more to him in both his physical and spiritual need.

We ask you to pray for the new churches at Chino, Binga, Jambesi and Insuza which we worked with, encouraged and helped. Also, the AIDS crisis and political uncertainties still weigh heavily upon Zimbabwe. We pray for peace, truth and reconciliation to prevail in the approach to the presidential elections here.

Eye_exam.jpg (58876 bytes)This picture is that of a 72 year old Tonga man that we saw at an eye camp last week with the volunteer team. He was blind, but will see well when his cataracts are removed. I hope to show him also the meaning of spiritual vision. He has a 22 year old wife to care for him (so guys, get out your reeds for your noses!!).
