BASOTHO OF LESOTHO AND SOUTH AFRICA (BAH-soo-too)

After Tom and Cindi Melvin met several times with a man familiar with Baptist beliefs and customs, he agreed to hold a Bible study at his home in a border town called Maputsoe.  This study is unique in that it is attended by all men.  These men have been involved in various church denominations in the past but have become discouraged due to the control pastors tend to have over church members.  Pray for this group of men as they learn what God’s Word teaches about a New Testament church.  Pray that the group will grow strong as they begin to meet as a house church.  Pray for Tom and Cindi as they work with these men to plant a new church that is willing and anxious to share the Good News of Christ with other Basotho.  http://www.basotho.org/. 

BASOTHO OF LESOTHO AND SOUTH AFRICA (BAH-soo-too).   A weekly Bible study is being held in the lowlands village of Ha Tsilonyane which is next to a village with a Baptist church.  The people who attend the studies are growing stronger in the Word but are reluctant to attend the “salvation” church because of disputes between the village chiefs.  Pray that God will work in the hearts of the chiefs to resolve petty issues that are causing the clash.  Pray the villagers will be bold enough to attend the nearby Baptist church or have a desire to start their own church.
