Karamojong

We wanted to tell you about the leader Loyep and his
place-Nadywaramukuny. Tubo and Jacob had visited with Loyep about baptism
recently and after hearing the stories of the baptism of Jesus and Philip
baptizing the Ethiopian official, Loyep wanted to obey God's word. So, we
planned to have a baptism down at their community water pump. After a time
of Bible stories and songs, we proceeded to the water pump. In
unprecedented fashion, a 'throng' of about 40 people marched to the water
pump singing, celebrating, and rejoicing that Loyep would be baptized. We
filled up a tarp under the water pump spout, and baptized him in the shallow
pool of water collected below. As expected, Loyep had been sharing Christ
with others. So, that day we saw not 1, but 15 people baptized. Each time,
the person being baptized was asked, "Why do you want to be baptized?" and
"Who is Jesus and why do you believe Him?" They answered from the heart and
their testimonies were heard by believers and skeptics alike who had come to
see this strange new sight at the water pump. Pray that these new believers
continue to learn and grow together. Pray also that their lives will be
living testimonies to those around them.

3. Regardless of the rains- the harvest is many and the workers are few.
There 250,000 Dodoth, a sub-tribe of Karamojong in the north, and there are
only 500 known believers. Please pray that these numbers would multiply as
believers follow God's leading to come and share His Good News in Karamoja.
