How will I be able to face the daily sorrow, death, and fear present in Lesotho, Africa? In Lesotho, there are over 100,000 orphans: orphans who have lost their parents to AIDS. 51% of Basotho women test positive for the HIV virus, and each year another 7000 babies are infected. As our family begins our first term as Apprentice Missionaries, please pray that the Giver of Life will use us to bring the Message of Hope to the Maluti Mountains.

“Do not fear, O land, rejoice and be glad, For the Lord has done great things” (Joel 2:21, NASB). Missionaries Alan and Babs Dial, who serve in the Maluti Mountains, spent a long time planning and praying for a Great Commission Christian team to produce a 30-day virtual prayerwalk for the Basotho of the Maluti Mountains in Lesotho, southern Africa. It is called “Pray for the Basotho.” The “walk” began on March 1 and ran through the end of the month. Each day gave a specific prayer request addressing the physical and spiritual needs of the mountain Basotho. “It is our prayer and heart’s desire that the momentum of praying will continue for months to come. We believe God hears and honors the prayers of His children. We believe that God does wondrous and marvelous things when His people pray specifically and in unity. Please join us in praying that this virtual prayerwalk will have an ongoing spiritual impact, that strongholds and barriers to the gospel will be torn down, and that God’s salvation will come to the mountain Basotho.”

A volunteer team led by a church in Virginia will be serving with International Service Corps workers Tom and Cindi Melvin in the lowlands of Lesotho on June 15-25. Pray for the team as they prepare to minister to the Basotho through men’s and women’s conferences, broad seed sowing, and Vacation Bible School. Ask God to supply every need for each team member, and pray that He will be glorified in all that is done. Pray that the Word of God will fall on hearts ready to surrender and follow Christ. http://www.basotho.org/

We, A. and B. asked many to pray for the Basotho living in the valley of Ha Seshote to know Christ.  For an entire year we prayed before ever entering with the gospel.  We asked for many to pray for a man of peace from this valley who would work with us...and God has provided him.  We asked many to pray for an opportunity to share Christ through a weekly Bible study and in July the study began.  God is hearing and answering prayer.  Now we ask you to pray with us for a new church start as a result of this weekly Bible study.  Please pray that God will reveal Himself in this valley, a valley with many villages held in bondage through witchcraft and deception from the evil one.  Join us in praying for strongholds to be broken and hearts to be softened to receive the gospel.  Please join us in praying for the Basotho of the Maluti Mountains. http://www.Basotho.org

Some village Basotho of Ha Tsilonyane in the lowlands of Lesotho are listening to the gospel and praying to receive Christ.  Pray that those who are receiving Christ will be bold enough to take the next step of attending a Bible study or service of the “salvation” church.   Basotho are reluctant to make known their new found faith due to others in the village who ridicule and harass those who leave the “traditional” ways of life.  Pray for new believers in Ha Tsilonyane to stand firm for Christ. http://www.Basotho.org
