Greetings from the Mountain Kingdom in the Sky,
What a busy two months we have had in May and June. We apologize for not keeping you updated on the work God is doing in the Lowlands of Lesotho. The Melvins are definitely on the move as we prepare to return to the US on August 3rd completing our first term of international ministry. Pray for us as we spend time with our family, friends, churches, and those who have gone the extra mile to keep us supported through prayer, giving, and going. We are thankful we have been given the opportunity to continue our turnaround process to long-term missions and look forward to returning to Africa in early 2010. With the current US and Global economic situation, the International Mission Board has recently had to make difficult decisions in terms of limiting the number of new long term missionaries and discontinuing the sending of many short term missionaries around the world. Please know that God has not stopped working. Missionaries all over the world continue to make disciples by sharing Christ, teaching and training nationals, starting new churches, and meeting human needs. Pray that God will move among Southern Baptists worldwide to raise the support needed to continue to send those who have been called to share His story in all the nations.
Thank you for your prayer support these last three years. You were a part of the work that God is doing among the Basotho.
Serving Him and the Basotho in the Lowlands of Lesotho,
Tom, Cindi, Zachary and Eli Melvin
