Tumbuka of Malawi

Robertson's newsletter

Many of the Tumbuka People living in the rural areas of Malawi have unsafe drinking water. The consumption of contaminated water is a severe health problem. This causes sickness and death among the younger children. Community Developers working among the Tumbuka people are introducing clean safe water sources as Church Planters introduce the Living Water, Jesus Christ. Pray that the Tumbuka People will embrace the Living Water as readily as they do the clean water.

One of the key areas in ministering to and reaching the Tumbuka people is leadership training.  We praise the Lord for the opportunity to train men (and some women) through the localized Bible Schools.  These students attend training for a total of 12 weeks over a 2 year period.  Please pray for current students and also graduated students who are serving in their churches.  Please pray that these leaders will grow strong in their walk with the Lord and be committed to serving Him.  Pray that they will apply and teach the information they learn from the Bible schools.  Please pray that the Lord will guide them and bless their families and that through them there will be a great harvest of people receiving and being discipled in the Lord Jesus.

Please pray for the women's ministry among the Tumbuka people.  Pray that the Lord will call out committed and strong leaders to train and disciple women in the Lord.  Pray that women will realize their worth in the eyes of Jesus and desire to grow in their walk with Him.  Please pray for an IMB missionary who has just returned from stateside assignment that the Lord will give her wisdom and discernment in reaching the Tumbuka women for Christ.

Please pray for the Tumbuka People of Malawi, Africa. Many have heard about Jesus but do not have a personal relationship with Him. Pray that those who come to know Jesus Christ will not intermingle their new faith with their traditional beliefs, but will give their all to Christ.
