This being the Christmas season we thought it would be very appropriate to ask you to pray for the pastors and lay leaders who lead and guide the Swazi Baptist churches in the Shiselweni Region of Swaziland.

A PERSONAL VIRTUAL

PRAYER WALK

Give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful

deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry

with good things.  Psalm 107:8-9

Vusie Nxumalo is pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church.  Vusie is not married and lives in Nhlangano.  When we returned from our first stateside assignment in 1998, we met Vusie who had been helping with Baptist work for a few months.  He became pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church in 2000 and has developed strong leadership qualities.

-Pray for Vusie as he leads the New Hope Baptist Church to daily seek the Lord’s direction and guidance. Pray for the church’s ministry of daily feeding AIDS orphans and widows.

-Pray for Vusie as he desires to be married and seeks the Lord’s direction in selecting the right woman the Lord has for him.

Johannes Tfwala (pictured) is pastor of the Velebantfu Baptist Church.  He was a member of the Phuzumoya Baptist Church and felt led to begin a work in Velebantfu in 2000.  Johannes is married and has one child.  The Velebantfu Baptist Church also daily feeds AIDS orphans and widows.

-Pray the Tfwalas will have a strong marriage that follow Christian principles.

-Pray the Velebantfu Baptist Church will seek to reach the lost in the Velebantfu community.

In addition to guiding with the Velebantfu Baptist Church, Pastor Tfwala also meets every Sunday afternoon at 3:00pm with the Maloma Baptist Church and has done so since 2002.  His love for the Lord and the ministry is quite evident.

-Pray Pastor Tfwala will have the commitment and strength to pastor these two churches.

-Pray the Maloma Baptist Church will continue to grow and seek the lost for Jesus .

Nkosingiphile Dlamini has pastored the Thunzini Baptist Church since 1999.  He came to the Nhlangano area from Makanyane for employment in 1998.  Nkosingiphile is single and wishes to further his education and job skills.

-Pray Nkosingiphile will seek the Lord’s direction concerning future educational/job training opportunities.

-Pray the Thunzini Baptist Church will continue to minister to the many Swazis in the Thunzini community.

Johnson Ndwandwe began leading the Mgamudze Baptist Church a few months ago.  He is from the Matsanjeni area and is married with 2 children.    Since many people in the Mgamudze area do not have jobs the church is looking into creative ways to help the people provide tithes and offerings for the church.

-Pray the gardening project the church is planning will indeed help provide tithes and offerings that will glorify the Lord.

-Pray for the Ndwandwes to have a marriage on Christian principles and seek the Lord’s guidance concerning ministering together.

Babe Mkhaliphi attended the AmaZioni church until he was convicted of his sin and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  Realizing the AmaZioni teachings were contrary to Christian principles he began a Bible study on his homestead in the Nthutwakazi area. This Bible study became a church in 2003.  He and his wife have 9 children.

-Pray as Babe Mkhaliphi leads the Nthutwakazi Baptist Church, he will continue to accept and preach the love of Jesus even when culture differs.

-Pray the Mkhaliphis will continue to love each other as God loves the church.

The Nhlangano Baptist Church has been without a pastor for several years.  Wayne preaches about twice a month at this church and Makhosi Mkhonta preaches the other Sundays.  Makhosi is a student (Form 3) and feels the Lord has led him to pastor. Several of our pastors have attended Nhlangano Baptist before becoming pastors.

-Pray Makhosi will continue to do well in school and seek the Lord’s direction daily as the Lord uses him at the Nhlangano Baptist Church and in future work.

-Pray the Nhlangano Baptist Church will continue sending leaders and pastors to start, lead and guide new work.

-Pray the Lord will send committed Christian men who will start new work and develop leadership.

Mpumelelo Dube and Bongani Dlamini both have committed their lives to the Lord and to His work, pray they will stay true to this calling and will be the leaders          of tomorrow.

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.         Psalm 143:10
