VIRTUAL PRAYER WALK MAP

FOR

NTUTHWAKAZI BAPTIST CHURCH

The Ntuthwakazi Baptist Church began with a Bible study in 2003 when on the way to Maloma for a Bible study the gray truck was stopped by a young man who wanted Wayne to come to a homestead that needed to know more about the Bible.  This young man had gone to school in Mgamudze and was familiar with the gray truck.  He explained the group had been AmaZionis but felt they were not following the Bible.

The Ntuthwakazi Baptist Church is approximately 100 kms from Nhlangano.  We can travel on tar (paved) roads except for the last 32 kms.  After we stop at the cross roads (esiphambanweni) we turn left and continue the last 32 kms on a dirt road. Along the way we will pass a small clinic called A1 Clinic and several homesteads. The last time we brought someone to this clinic to be treated, medications were limited. Pray the A-1 Clinic will be able to treat the many people who come daily and will have the needed medications.

Pictured is the Ngwabuma River.  (This is one of my favorite spots in Swaziland.)  After traveling over the one lane bridge across this river we proceed on our way.

We still have a long way to go before we arrive at our destination.  Along the way we see many people walking on the road, we pass schools, a police station, and many homesteads.  Most of these people do not know who Jesus is.  Pray these Swazis will have a chance to hear the gospel message and respond.

After we turn onto the road that leads to the homestead we pass through two barbed-wire gates such as the one you see in the picture. The gates stay closed during the growing season so cows and goats will not bother the crops such as corn and cotton.  During the winter the gates are open.

We will travel another 5 kms until we reach the homestead that is the Ntuthwakazi Baptist Church.  We will see children walking home from school.  We will also pass a water pump that supplies water to those who live in this area.  Water is such a precious commodity. Pray there will always be enough water to meet the needs of the people.

We are now turning into the homestead.  This is the Mkhaliphi homestead.  When the father was saved he realized the AmaZioni belief was not right.  He tried to help his church see they were not living as God desired but they chased him away. At the time the father worked in South Africa.  He instructed his son to find someone who to come and teach them the Bible. .

There is no building for this church, so the adults and youth meet on a white tarpaulin. Chairs and benches are provided although many of the women prefer to sit on the ground. The two huts provide the much needed shade on a very warm day.   Pray as the adults and youth come to hear the Word of God they will see the need to repent and accept Jesus as their Savior.  Pray for a deep commitment of the people to the ways of the Lord.

The children meet beside a hut and sit on mats (as pictured) for Bible study and live near this homestead. They are faithful. Pray for a continued commitment of the teacher and these children to attending and learning about the Old and New Testament.  Pray these children will one day be the leaders of the Ntuthwakazi Baptist Church.

The Ntuthwakazi Baptist Church’s members are very “young” Christians and living as a Christian in the Swazi culture can be very difficult.  The leader of this church once said, “They come to the land of Canaan only to return to Egypt.” The people are enslaved to a culture that centers on appeasing the ancestors.  It is very difficult to turn away from this life and follow the one and only Son of God.  Pray for true revival in the community of Ntuthwakazi.  Pray the people will come to the land of Canaan and hear the Word of God. Pray they will believe and never return to Egypt.
