As the sun rises over
the Indian Ocean, the land awakes to the sound of the
call to prayer. On every street corner, a mosque
calls the faithful to rise and pray, and as the day
progresses, the call will come again and again.
The people of the coast
of Eastern Africa, most of whom are a beautiful
mixture of Arab and African, hold faithfully to Islam
though they have mingled it with their traditional,
animistic beliefs and superstitions. This keeps
them living in fear.
Persecution usually
awaits those who convert to Christianity, and many are
forced to leave their homes and families.

Please,pray:
Pray for IMB workers in
isolated towns and villages where Christianity is not
welcome. Pray that they will not be discouraged
when they see limited response to the Gospel.
Ask God to break down the walls of resistance.

Ask God to soften the
hearts of the people along the coast and to provide
opportunities to where the love of Christ and to
develop relationships where they can take place.

Pray
for the believers and new converts. Ask God to
strengthen their faith as they face persecution.
Ask God to give them boldness in their witness and
that their lives would reflect the Gospel of Christ.
