Blessings in Zimbabwe

In a country of many, many challenges God is our hope, our Protector and our Provider. 

Sometimes, God uses His children to bring blessing upon the earth. Once in a while, we have the opportunity to be the bearer of those blessings.  This is the case in Zimbabwe.

In a recent article on Zimbabwe, the associated press is quoted as saying, "Independent finance houses said in an assessment Tuesday that annual inflation rose this month to 1,063,572 percent based on prices of a basket of basic foodstuffs." (Yes, that is over one million percent!) The article goes on to say that a decade ago you could have bought 60 new cars for the 1 billion Zimbabwe dollars that today buys a small packet of coffee.

The State newspaper in Zimbabwe, The Herald confesses the challenges that are present in today's Zimbabwe, "SPIRALLING inflation, shortages of basic commodities, constant power cuts, high transport costs and intermittent disruptions to water supplies..."

Sometimes we weary of hearing about the disasters that are present around our globe, especially when they are man-made.  But God is using resources Baptists are providing to feed His sheep --literally.  Through your gifts to Baptist Global Response hungry Zimbabweans are being fed.  Through the efforts of the Baptist Mission, the Baptist Convention and the Baptist Union needs are being met and people in Zimbabwe are being ministered to in the name of Christ.
