Volunteers with a heart for Christ. Sharing the gospel to those who have not had the opportunities to hear much about the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ.  They left their homes with joy and anticipation of what God was going to do through them and came back realizing what God is doing in them.  For some of the team it was their first international missions trip.

The team had come to Zimbabwe for a specific purpose and as God poured out His grace upon them they saw the need to get to work.vbs_tshirt.JPG (61618 bytes)

They formed two ministry teams: one to provide leadership training called, Equipping the Saints for Ministry and the other to do prayer walking in the morning and vacation bible school at an orphanage for street kids in the afternoons.  They joined together in the evenings for church services and to show the Jesus film in Ndebele (the local language).

The next few days proved to be an extra-ordinary as the volunteers traveled 6 hours to the Binga area to minister to the Tonga people, a people under-evangelized and truly in need of hearing the gospel message. They stayed in the area for two days prayer walking, and ministering to the rural people in the area.

The healing of physical sight and spiritual sight was the agenda one day as an hour further on from Binga an eye camp was held in an old school building.  For four hours, the missionary ophthalmologist examined people. Beforehand the volunteers were schooled on how to screen for vision and use witnessing.jpg (22461 bytes)dilating drops. While some volunteers worked in the eye clinic others were witnessing and sharing with those waiting outside.  A record of all who attended the eye clinic was kept as a prayer list for the following day's prayer time.  Some of the patients examined will go to Binga hospital next month, when the missionary will return to perform cataract surgery.  Their prayer is that as Steve helps bring light to the physical eye, the people would also see the light of salvation in Jesus Christ.

The volunteers ended their trip with local believers as they gathered outside the home of the Baptist pastor in Binga who only arrived at the beginning of the year.  It was a time of encouragement for the local believers as well as the volunteers who experienced praise and worship African style.
