Dear Prayer Partners: Last Sunday a witch doctor came to our church, Boa Esperanca, and manifested a desire to defect from satan's kingdom. This man is a third generation witch doctor, and his son 8 years old has already been initiated. We had a meeting with him after worship where we had the opportunity to explain to him about Jesus' Plan of Salvation, and we prayed for him. He promised us that tomorrow, Friday, March 11th., at 6 pm our time, he will bring all his witchcraft paraphernalia , and meet us (Pastor Ricardo, the deacons and myself), again in our church sanctuary. Today Pastor Ricardo came to visit me and told us that Domingos (the witch doctor) is ready to come and will have all his tools in a bag ready to surrender to be burned. We are in a big satanic warfare and we really need prayers and fasting until tomorrow. Many things can happen. Domingos remains in great danger with all his family against him. Please pray that Domingos will remain convicted to surrender all. He has not received Jesus Christ as his Savior yet! Now the rest of the story: Ten minutes before 6 pm I arrived at the church. Pastor Ricardo and his wife, couple of deacons, 2 other women (intercessors) were already there. About 10 to 12 people gathered. We waited until 6:15 pm and Domingos did not show up. We decided to hurdle together to sing and pray. At 6:30 pm I thought that our guest would never come as promised. Pr. Ricardo gave me the word to speak to the praying group about the time that Jesus faced the Legion of demons in the Gadarene. It was this moment that Domingos (the witchdoctor) walked in, holding in his hands a small bag made of white cloth, and walked straight to me. I invited him to sit after welcoming him and kept on with the Jesus story. At the end I spoke directly to Domingos, looking right into his eyes... inviting him to accept Jesus! He accepted with no hesitation, telling me that he came in for that specific reason, and to surrender all! We had two straw mats spread on the floor of the sanctuary. I invited him to take his shoes off, kneel down and pray with me the sinner's prayer. The group formed a circle around us, and in this way Domingos prayed and asked forgiveness for his sins, and accepted Jesus as his new Master. We embraced each other, crying, and the group of believers sang "Tuapandula Soku Alleluia!!!" that means "Thank You Lord Alleluia!" After this Domingos gave a testimony telling us a gruesome story about deaths in his family, and sex rituals. He showed us what was in the bag... a small bowl, a bottle of perfume, two small statuettes, a tea cup and some moneys too. We put all inside the card board box, and with a concrete block, Domingos started to crush everything. Then Pr. Ricardo and everyone around the circle took turns crushing the artifacts. After that we folded the card board box, walked to the backyard of the church and put some gasoline on the top and burn it , and we sang again Tuapandula Soku Alleluia. With tears of joy, we embraced each other in victory in Jesus Christ. Thank you so much for your prayers, we are all victors in Him! Is this not awesome! Yet another changed life. Please continue to pray for Domingos, that he would be strong in time of opposition, and that he can be a witness to his family and others as his life changes directions. God is good....all the time! and all the time.....God is good! |
